Instep: What can we expect from FPW this year?

Ayesha Tammy Haq: Pure fashion.

Instep: Tell us something about the new designers that will be showing?

ATH: There are 13 new designers at FPW2, they are all extremely talented and creative. Like last years debut designers, this year we will have some amazing new young stars on the ramp. And this is what Fashion

Pakistan is all about. We encourage young designers as well as students from AIFD and PSFD. Some of the exciting new names to look out for are Fayez Agariah, Zaheer Abbas, Aziz Ali, Zeina Haider, Sania Maskatiya and making a debut menswear collection, Shakeel Saigol.

…Sehyr Saigol and Maheen Khan patched up?

Another thunder and lightening moment that would be, the announcement of which would most certainly begin with drum rolls! It’s no secret that Pakistan fashion was on the steady path of forming one united fashion council until these two had a major fall out. Call it clash of the titans, if you may. But their getting back on one platform would mean fashion actually getting a platform. The Boulevard would stock the best of both cities and the new talent at Karachi Fashion Week would be selected on merit as opposed to who the city government wants to promote this year. Lahore would lend Karachi some of its business sense and altogether better manners, whereas Karachi would in turn send Lahore some better style. This is not to say it isn’t already happening, but just because of some ego clashes, it isn’t happening with the force it should have.
