Rupinder Magon (Rup) from the Montreal-based bhangra-pop outfit Josh recently posted on his Twitter account “In the middle of Nowhere, Michigan shooting for my first Hollywood cameo. Big set! Horror film called Jinn.” He didn’t spill any other details and a small search of Jinn online fails to come up with any relevant results. So we’re guessing that the film is in a very early development phase.
Rup was born and raised in Montreal, Canada is one of the founding members of the bhangra-pop band Josh. The band has released over three albums and has also collaborated with Nelly Furtado on a remix version of Furtado’s song, Powerless.
The singer-songwriter for Josh also tweeted about a new song that the band had worked upon. Rup mentioned that “recorded an absolutely beautiful track called Meri Dua.” The musician certainly has a sense of humour as he added that “the album is sounding Bharrri Hot (also the name of another track).”
