Sobia Nazir’s lawn exhibit opens today
Sobia Nazir’s lawn exhibit opens today

Fashion Fraternity
Sobia Nazir is working her way up the fashion fraternity. It is hugely important for a designer to be regular with their output of new stuff, and she is. Apart from her clothes, she is very regular about her lawn exhibitions.
This year, her lawn collection is called ‘Fine Line’ and her press release defines it as “a unique collection of myth with a blend of nature… an inspiration from ‘fine art and life’.”
This year they are more elegant than her out and out funky, psychedelic retro ’70s lawn that made such an impact last year.
At her show at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, she was perhaps the only designer who incorporated lawn into her collection, making formal tunics with metallic silver running past bare shoulders. It was what Sana Safinaz had done with luxurious silks for their Ensemble shows last year. Most women won’t go for that in our conservative society, but they can have a piece of Sobia Nazir lawn and stitch it as they will.
Instep: Watch out for Sheep
Watch out for Sheep!
The Karachi store opens its doors for the first time for a new take on retail wear in Pakistan

Instep
When one hears the word ‘Sheep’, the last thing that would come to mind would be a very large, eye-catching shop on main Zamzama. Also, when trying to deduce from the name itself as to what you might find inside, there aren’t many things one would be able to come up with. Therefore, one feels compelled to step inside and take a look around.
When the car neared the entrance of the shop, the lane was packed with cars and people, with valet parking drivers trying to manage the traffic: clearly, the launch of this new brand had attracted the attention of many people.
Ijaz Butt: No lifetime ban on Yousuf and Younus

Ijaz Butt
KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ijaz Butt took a U-turn hours after imposing lifetime ban on former captains Younus Khan and Muhammad Yousuf and said that the duo was not banned for life and they can be considered anytime for selection.
Earlier, PCB chose to implement the recommendations of an inquiry committee to also hand out 12-month bans to Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved and fine Shahid Afridi and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal three million rupees ($35,000) and Umar Akmal two million ($24,000).
“Mohammed Yousuf and Younus Khan… attitude has a trickledown effect which is a bad influence for the whole team (and they) should not be part of (the) national team in any format,” the PCB said in a statement on Wednesday.
