Imran Khan and Urban Desi Royalty Bag Anokhi ‘Sexy and Successful’ Awards
Anokhi Magazine’s 4th Annual Awards Gala to celebrate the 2010 “Sexy and Successful” list went down this weekend at Toronto’s Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex and we have the scoop on the event’s highlights!
Bhangra sensation Imran Khan took to the stage to perform his hit singles “Amplifier” and “Gora Gora Rang,” Urban Desi songstress Anjulie pleased the crowd with her “Boom” and “Rain,” and DJ Kapyer hit the decks at the after-party!
But it wouldn’t be an awards gala without awards!
Imran Khan took home the trophy for Male Musical Artist of the Year, Anjulie won the Female Musical Artist of the Year award, and DesiHits! Chair/President, Anjula Acharia-Bath, bagged the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award!
“As a South Asian woman who strives to bring awareness to our community, I am proud to be part of this event that honors those who are representing our community, and I am thrilled to have been honored with such a meaningful award. The event was as fabulous as I expected,” Anjula said about the evening.
