The Fatsumas is a band from Islamabad Pakistan. Their music is often described by the Pakistani media as original – that either says a lot about the band or a lot about Pakistan’s music “scene” at large. Original songs are a novelty here I guess.

Anyway, they have no label, no cd’s as of yet. But they love to write and make music. And whatever they do write, you’ll find here first. They’ve spent a large amount of time assembling their own studio, where they have begun the recording process.

LOS ANGELES : Madonna made a rather ‘clean’ faux pas when she was pictured waving with a bottle of hand sanitiser at orphans in Malawi.

The ill-timed photograph was taken as the pop star left the Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji, where her adopted son David, four, used to live.

The Pop Queen, 51, has adopted two children from the impoverished southern African country and runs a non-profit organisation Raising Malawi to help vulnerable children, reports Sky News.

The singer has been visiting Malawi with David and her other children Lourdes, Rocco and Mercy, who was adopted from the country earlier this year.

The kids joined their mother earlier this week on the tour of the orphanage, where Raising Malawi has built several new buildings

MUMBAI : The new girl who is creating ripples in the film circuit is Shatrughan Sinha’s young daughter, Sonakshi Sinha. The pretty lady is all set to start her acting career with film Dabangg, where she will be seen opposite none other than Salman Khan.

But it was no cakewalk for this star-kid. When Sallu saw her in a fashion show, he told her to lose 10 kilos and that was the day when Sonkashi decided to change herself. The girl lost 30 kilos with no fasting, and worked rigorously on her body. It took her 2 long years and of course, strong determination to be in great shape.

Sonakshi is quoted as saying about her hero Salman: “Our fondness for each other is mutual! He saw potential in me and egged me on to lose weight. I would say his contribution was the highest as I started taking it seriously only after he told me to.”

LONDON : Former supermodel Cindy Crawford has expressed concern over the current trend of size-zero models.

Known for her trademark mole just above her lip, Crawford believes that she’s too healthy to fit in the category of supermodel today.

“I would not have become a supermodel in 2009. I look too healthy, Crawford said.

The former beauty queen who was named No 3 on VH1′s 40 Hottest Actress of the 90s was one of the best paid models during 1980s and 1990s, Telegraph reported.

Crawford added that a body like her own is no longer what the industry is looking for.

However, the 43-year old American beauty has no regrets about her body and says she is happy with her body.

“That’s why I like being in my 40s so much,” she said. “Being at peace with yourself, knowing about your strengths beyond being pretty,” the paper quoted her telling Germany’s Brunt magazine.

CARACAS : Oscar-winning actor and political activist Sean Penn may film a movie in Venezuela, according to the country’s firebrand President Hugo Chavez.

Penn “told me was very interested in a film project … that would most likely be shot in part in Venezuela,” Chavez told state television on Wednesday after meeting the actor along with film producer Art Linson at the presidential palace.

Chavez said Penn, who he described as a “friend of just causes,” hoped to make a movie based on the 1953 adventure novel “The Lost Steps” by Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier, which takes place mostly in the lush forests of southeastern Venezuela.

The Oscar-winner, who received the award for Best Actor category in 2004 for “Mystic River” and in 2009 for “Harvey Milk,” arrived here from Cuba, where he had reportedly sought an interview with its revolutionary icon Fidel Castro.

MUMBAI : Fifty-year-old Sanjay Dutt has been shooting with 20-something Kangna Ranaut. And if they were looking super-compatible in spite of Dutt being half of Kangna’s age it’s all because of a special ketosis-based diet.

Says a source close to Dutt, “Sanjay went on this special diet in June. It required him to take lots and lots of fatty foods and no carbohydrates at all. In fact, carbs would’ve been potentially lethal for this diet. In no time Sanjay started losing weight. And that too without Sanju having to give up his favourite food.” Today Dutt is looking trimmer than he did 10 years ago. And when he shot with Kangna last week the camera couldn’t tell their age difference.
